Ms Sharon is sought after for her experience and student-centred pedagogy. With over 20 years of teaching experience and a background in music teacher training, she understands that every learner is different and curates a unique learning experience for every student.


She adopts a holistic and learner-oriented approach and uses grades as a means to bring out not only excellence, but more importantly, to build a foundation for long-term musicality through enjoyment and authentic learning.

She is known for her rigour in teaching advanced theory and brings to life the music performed through the context of the compositions, which is imperative for performance programming at diploma levels and beyond.
 
As a music educator, Ms Sharon is gentle and patient with her students and inspires a passion for music to realise their potential, much like an artist shapes the clay at the potter’s wheel.

She does not try and fit every student into a mould but crafts lessons according to each student’s affinity with an expectation of excellence: in attitude and ability.

With younger students, Ms Sharon works closely with parents to support the student through their musical journey. Her students always look forward to coming to her lessons to perform on her grand piano, and the smiles on their faces as they leave the lessons speak for themselves.

 
Having been trained in music from the age of 4, Ms Sharon is no stranger to the stage and has been involved in various musical productions.

Since her youth, she has been a worship leader and church musician, and in recent years she has composed music for worship.

 
A lifelong learner and lover of music, Ms Sharon continues to develop her pedagogy in continuing education and is currently pursuing her Master of Education (Music).
